MJD Planning Helps Secure Planning Permission for 15-Storey Student Accommodation in Old Kent Road
MJD Planning Ltd. has successfully secured planning permission for a 15-storey student accommodation and light industrial building at 301-303 Ilderton Road in Southwark. The approval, granted on September 10, 2025, includes a £7.7 million payment-in-lieu for affordable housing, a solution reached after conventional on-site provision proved unfeasible. The project is designed to a high standard, with a focus on sustainability and transport improvements, and is a key part of the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area's regeneration.

Prior Approval Granted for Four Flats in Southend
MJD Planning successfully secures prior approval for the conversion of an office building at 30 Clarence Street, Southend, into four residential flats. The project, which falls under Class MA of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015, will create much-needed housing in a sustainable location. As the agent for the application, MJD Planning demonstrated that the proposal met all the necessary criteria, including space standards, and addressed potential impacts on transport and the surrounding area.
